It was the vision of one man Prof.Dr.Rajan that transformed what was once a modest eye clinic to what is today, one of India's premier super specialty eye hospitals and Post Graduate Institute of Ophthalmology. Rajan Eye Care has grown from strength to strength over the past 12 years not only expanding its floor space but also expanding its services to emerge as a Tertiary eye care hospital. It is exceptional because of its quality of service and caliber of doctors, Expert diagnostic ability, access to latest Equipments and above all a patient friendly environment. The hospital also runs training courses that includes the Post Graduate training in Diplomate of National Board, affiliated to National Board of Examinations, New Delhi, short term fellowship in Micro surgery, Phacoemulsification training programs, Fellowship in Optometry and Ophthalmic Nursing Assistant course. In addition Continuing Medical Education programs are conducted with a main objective of imparting knowledge to other practicing Ophthalmologists.
Prof.Dr.N.Rajan
This rapidly growing Eye Hospital owes its inception to one mans dream Late Prof. Dr.N.Rajan (B.Sc, M.S, D.O) former Deputy Superintendent of Government Ophthalmic Hospital. Started his career as a General Practitioner near Kumbakonam, Thanjavur District. Later did his Postgraduate Diploma in Ophthalmology and Masters in Ophthalmology from Government Ophthalmic Hospital. He was a pioneer community Ophthalmology and Mobile camps and was the first chief Surgeon of chief minister's mobile eye camps in 1971. he was an expert in Intracapsular Cataract Extraction, corneal transplants and anti - glaucoma surgery. Late Dr. N.Natrajan (Dr.N.Rajan's father )was also a medical professional. He was the municipal health officer in Kumbakonam and corporation health officer in Madras.
Dr.Mohan Rajan
Medical Director of Rajan Eye Care Hospital is a well trained Ophthalmic Surgeon in both Anterior and Posterior segment surgeries. He graduated from Madras Medical College and had his basic training and fellowship in Vitreous and Retina under Dr. S.S. Badrinath at the renowned Institute Sankara Nethralaya. Dr. Mahan Rajan has performed more than 25,000 Cataract and IOL implant surgery and is a specialist in Phacoemulsification and Foldable IOL's and Vitreous Surgeries.
Dr. Sujatha Mohan
Is the associate Medical Director of Rajan Eye Care Hospital and Director of Rotary Rajan Eye Bank. She graduated from Thanjavur Medical College and had her Post Graduate training in Sankara Nethralaya and is a well trained Anterior segment Ophthalmic Surgeon. She has specialized in Phacoemulsification and Foldable IOL's, corneal transplant surgery and is an eminent Refractive (LASIK) surgeon.
